Getting Started with Your Linnpower Electric Skateboard

This article might feel a bit dry, but it covers some very important points that we’ve carefully summarized. Please make sure to read it thoroughly before your first ride to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Greetings and welcome to the Linnpower family! We’re excited for you to experience the thrill and performance of your new electric skateboard. To help you get started safely and enjoy your rides to the fullest, we’ve compiled essential tips and maintenance advice for your Linnpower board.

Remote & Board Pairing

Your Linnpower board and remote come pre-paired from the factory, so no re-pairing is needed. Important: If you accidentally enter pairing mode and are unsure about the settings, contact our support team for confirmation before making any changes.

As of now, all Linnpower boards use “Belt” for the Motor Type, and 7 for the Motor Pole Pairs. This applies to every model, including both belt-drive and gear-drive versions.

1. Check Bushing Tightness

Linnpower boards are shipped with slightly loose bushings intentionally. Tightening them too early can put extra stress on the bushings, causing faster wear.

First Ride Tips

  • Ride a few laps in a safe, open area.
  • Adjust the bushings according to your riding style, braking feel, and personal preference.

Board Types

  • DKP / TKP / RKP Boards: Make sure at least 2 threads are visible on the kingpin nut when adjusting bushings.

2. Belt Drive Maintenance

Proper belt tension is crucial for smooth performance:

  • Press the belt lightly by hand — it should rebound slightly. This indicates correct tension.
  • Temperature changes or prolonged rides may require rechecking the tension.
  • After each ride, inspect belts and pulleys for debris. Cleaning them helps extend belt life.

3. Gear Drive Tips

Listen carefully for unusual noises while riding. Any suspicious sounds should be reported to our support team immediately to prevent damage.

4. Wheel Maintenance

After tightening truck axle nuts, loosen them half a turn to prevent clicking noises or premature bearing and spacer wear.

5. Remote Care

Always charge the remote with the original cable. Avoid fast charging, as it may damage the remote.

Safety Reminders

· ESC Setting

If your board uses a Hobbywing ESC, we recommend turning off the R-LOS Autobrake. Here’s a video for your reference:

· Speed Tips: Master Control Before Chasing Thrills

Many new e-skate riders can’t wait to hit top speed—just to see that number climb on the remote. But the faster you go, the more momentum and energy your board builds, and the easier it is to fall.

We recommend getting full control of your board first before chasing high speeds. Start at 10–20 mph and practice in a variety of environments: turning around street corners, transitioning from sidewalks to streets, riding from grass to pavement, gravel or sand paths, small parks, residential areas, and even city streets.

Once you’ve dialed in your skills at lower speeds, riding faster becomes fun rather than risky. Learn to control your board so speed is enjoyable, not scary. True riding enjoyment isn’t just about straight-line speed—it’s about mastering every aspect of your ride.

Even with careful riding, unexpected situations may occur on the road. Always wear protective gear and make sure your board settings are configured for your comfort and safety. And stop riding immediately if you notice anything unusual with your board. Contact our support team before riding again.
